Landfills:

Landfills are the third largest producer of methane, a greenhouse gas 20 times the potency of CO2. They also produce a highly toxic leachate that can enter water streams. Damages caused by pollution are compounded by the fact that much of landfill waste is simply left to rot with no attempt to repurpose the material - far from a circular economy.

Incineration:

Incineration has a history of flagrant disregard for pollution, with the burden of these health impacts falling on socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.

The rise of movements like NIMBY (Not In My Backyard) demonstrate growing public consciousness about the environmental effects of waste management and the need for new strategies.

KYKLOS' GREEN TECHNOLOGY

MEETS THE MOST STRINGENT POLLUTION LIMITS

Extremely high processing temperatures and proprietary syngas cleaning technology allow our system to meet the most strict environmental standards.  High temperatures destroy furans, dioxins, and concerning PFAS. Low process oxygen levels prevent the formation of unwanted chlorine pollutants. All solid output is non-toxic.

 NO WASTEWATER OR LEACHATE

Landfills, incinerators, and traditional gasifiers produce toxic wastewater that can't be adequately cleaned in treatment plants. 

Kyklos' technology eliminates wastewater production, and in turn, preserves clean watersheds and healthy communities.

REPURPOSABLE SOLID OUTPUTS

Along with electricity, Kyklos generates biochar and ash which can be used for carbon offsetting as a fertilizer or concrete filler.

WASTE VOLUME REDUCTION

Waste volume reduced by over 95%, leading to less real estate needs and NIMBY opposition. Prevents stockpiling of waste that can't be landfilled immediately.
